Mark Pomeranz, CEO
With 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, Mark Pomeranz brings a strong track record of success in both start-ups and in large multinational organizations.
Prior to joining MOTUS in 2014, Mr. Pomeranz was the founding CEO of Svelte Medical Systems. Other previous positions include serving as a vice president at Johnson & Johnson and in senior leadership roles at Cardiac Pathways Corporations and Cardiovascular Imaging Systems, both acquired by Boston Scientific Corporation.
Mr. Pomeranz earned an M.Sc. in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami and currently holds 40+ patents.
Skip Ashmore, CCO
Having more than 25 years of experience in the commercialization of game-changing medical devices, Skip Ashmore has a deep understanding of how to successfully bring innovative devices to market. He has done so in therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, nephrology, orthopedics, vascular, cardiothoracic and gynecology.
Before joining MOTUS in 2015, Mr. Ashmore served as the general manager and VP of sales and marketing for Covidien. He also held senior sales and marketing positions at Given Imaging, CryoLife and Baxter.
He received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, his M.S. from the University of Hawaii and earned his MBA at Northwestern University.
James J. Martin, CFO
Mr. Martin has nearly 25 years of finance and management experience including providing financial leadership to commercial-stage, publicly traded medical device companies.
Most recently, Mr. Martin was the Chief Financial Officer of VBI Vaccines, Inc. (formerly SciVac Therapeutics, Inc.), where he led the company in the successful completion of a merger in July 2015 and an acquisition in May 2016. He is the former Chief Financial Officer of Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems, Inc., Vapor Corp, Inc. and TransEnterix, Inc. Mr. Martin was also an Operations Specialist with the U.S. Navy from 1985 to 1990.
Mr. Martin holds an undergraduate degree in business administration and an MBA from Barry University in Miami and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Hagit Ephrath, VP Regulatory & Clinical Affairs, Quality Assurance & General Manager Israel
Ms. Ephrath has 19 years of medical device experience focused on managing statistics, regulatory affairs, clinical and quality assurance activities through all phases of development.
Before coming to MOTUS in 2013, Hagit Ephrath spent 11 years with Given Imaging—the world leader in capsule endoscopy. Prior to that, she worked in the blood glucose monitoring area at Carmel Biosensor.
She earned both a B.A. and M.A. in statistics at Haifa University.
